PC Tips
This section is a small collection of tips we have found to be useful for our customers over the years. If you need help with, or more information about anything listed below please contact us.
Backup often! We recommend backing up your data at least once per week. CDs / DVDs and external drives are great, but don't forget about possibilities like fire and natural disaster. We recommend keeping a backup copy of your data in a safe offsite location as well.
When problems occur reboot your computer. Sometimes a simple reboot of your computer is all that is required to fix a problem.
Clean out the inside of your computer at least once a year. Use a can of compressed air to clean the dust out of the inside of your computer. Dust can cause overheating and slowing of your computer.
Keep all software discs and product keys. If you have a hard drive crash or other major issue, you may need to reinstall Windows and all of the software on your PC. Make sure to keep the original CD / DVDs and product keys or you may have to purchase the software again.
Keep all the information for your ISP (Internet Service Provider). If you have connection problems you may need your username, password, and mail server addresses to get connected again.
